CNC Setter Operator
Job Description
Special Testing Ltd is a member of the Special Steel Group of Companies and is one of the leading steel testing laboratories in the country.
We continue to update our CNC machining cell and now must expand our current production capacity with the appointment of an additional full-time professional CNC setter operator.
You will work closely with the other members of our busy team producing precision test samples in a range of steels and alloys, including nickel alloys.
Additional duties will include test piece identification & control and some use of manual lathes and other auxiliary equipment.
Skills Required
We are looking for experienced operators, with a keen eye for precision. You will be familiar with CNC lathes running FANUC and operating with both jaws and collets. Our programmes are preinstalled, but you will be expected to change offsets regularly and do some occasional minor editing, but we can support you with additional training in this area as needed.
You will know from experience that the role requires a methodical and accurate approach in order to produce test samples to exacting tolerances.
You will be a team player, happy to offer support and guidance to your colleagues. We have a great team working environment, operating from a modernised facility.

Salary: Averaging up to £14.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, plus premium overtime rates plus a company contribution pension scheme. You will also be eligible to join the weekly team production bonus system.
